Paragraph 1: Introduction. How would you describe the plot and and the thesis of this book?
The alchemist was written by Paulo Coelho the worlds best selling author. This book has inspired many people in the world with over thirty millions copies sold and translated into fifty six different languages. Why is the book so famous and inspiring one may ask. The plot of this book is of a boy named Santiago he is a humbled shepherd who leaves his simple life to follow his personal legend. In the book it describes a personal legend as your propose in life something that is your dream to accomplish. He passes through many tribulations to go follow his dreams to see the egyptian pyramids. He meets many new friends and the love of his life. Reading this book I came out with an out come that the thesis of this book is, that if you follow your dreams the whole universe will help you accomplish your dreams.
Paragraph 2: Focus on one part of the story that really hit you - and made you realize something. What was happening in the story and what did you learn from it? How does it relate to your experience?
Reading the book the alchemist it taught me something important. In the book Santiago meets the love of his life in the deserts while he was searching for his treasure. Even though Santiago became very rich , a leader and didn't want to leave he was convinced by his friend that love should never stand in the way of someone chasing their dreams. This passage in the book relates to reflects similarities that I have faced in my life. Before I enrolled in college I had a girl where I lived that both of us loved one another to fulfill my dream of going to college and getting an education I had to leave her. Even though it was for the best I did not want to leave but she convinced me to go because if I didn't she would feel like it was her fault that I did not get an education. So after reading this book it made me reflect on the past and realize something that I subconsciously know, that love should never stand in the way of someone following their dreams.
Paragraph 3: Critique the book. What did you like about the book, and what did you not like about the book. Feel free to be honest about your true opinions.
Reading the book The Alchemist has made me thinking about many different possibilities in life and has encouraged me to keep following my dreams. The thing that I love most about The Alchemist is how it inspires people to fulfill their dreams and take chances. Like Santiago who gave up everything that he had just to follow his dreams even though he was robbed three times! Unfortunalty nothing in this world is perfect which includes this book. Throughout the book the plot keep me flipping through the pages non stop. But at the ending of the story Santiago finds his treasure and becomes a very wealthy man. I didn't like this pat because I wanted the treasure to be something more unpredictable something more than wealth its self.
Paragraph 4: Would you recommend this book to a friend? Write why or why not? Who would it be good for?
The Alchemist has been one of the best books I have read in a while. It would defiantly without a doubt be on my list of books to recommend to my friends. I would recommend this book because it inspires people to get up and follow their dreams. I would recommend this to my friends who are depressed with their life style. This would help them change their ways and switch it up to go chase their dreams.Overall this book I would really recommend to anyone because it is a good read and it motivates people to do what they always wanted to do.
Fulfilling your dreams like the alchemist
Santiago went through rough and thick to fulfill his dreams
dreams made him leave his simple life and schemes
on his search he discovered many things
he even befriend a king!
he learned to read the soul of the earth
he even learned to turn lead into gold
almost their god answered his prayers
gave him a beautiful girl to who he truely loved
but he gave up his love for a moment to find his treasure from above
but he promised to come back cause it was true love
if a boy can find his life's joy
why cant you just follow your heart through and through
keep on the path Santiago passed through thief's and psychopaths
so never give up and get up off your ass
and find out the calculations and do the math
to finally fulfill your path
one second at a time one day a time
climb and climb until you have reached your prime
remember to look at the time
and fulfill them before the end of your time
Vitor,
ReplyDeleteGreat review and post! Great work answering the questions and relating to the book. I agree with your critique about the treasure. Real treasure, at the end, almost seems too literal. A little predictable.
But I am glad that you enjoyed the book. As I mentioned, if you read it again, at another point in your life, you'll find a sorts of new things in it that you missed the first time.
Great poem! I still dig your rhyming style, and you poem here is both summative and motivational. Great work, as always.
